Farmingdale Republic Airport

Take off from Republic

The flight started out at Republic airport with a call to ground control for clearence to the take off location. Once positioned at the take off location the following call to the Tower was made.

Call to Republic Ground

Long Island Islip Airport

Touch and go at Islip

Islip is a class C airspace at the time of this writing. This means that two way communication should be obtained with the tower before entry into the airspace. We start by listening to ATIS to get latest airport advisories. Afterwards we contact tower and obtain instructions for approaching the airport. We advise the tower that we are requesting a touch and go.

Brookhaven

Touch and go at Brookhaven

Brookhaven at the time of this writing is an uncontrolled airport. This means that anyone wishing to land there should self announce. The self announcements are optional, however they are a smart thing to do. Listen to ATIS before entering the area. The following link directs you to how the self announcements sound like.

Francis S. Gabreski Airport

Touch and go at Gabreski Airport

Gabreski at the time of this writing is an airport located in Class D airspace. This means two way communication is required with the tower prior to entry. The following call was made to get two way communication. Unfortunately for this flight the call was made a little too late.
